Strong, a rising redshirt junior standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 297 pounds, made his decision during a visit to the Clemson campus earlier that day. Despite only managing seven tackles in ten games this past season due to the competition within a strong defensive line, Strong was poised for an expanded role next year. However, with two returning starters, David Stone and Jayden Jackson, he chose to explore opportunities that could offer him more playing time.
Clemson's strategy to enhance its interior defensive line has been evident this offseason, especially following the departure of anticipated starter Stephiylan Green to LSU. In addition to Strong, the Tigers have already welcomed Kourtney Kelly, a rising senior from West Georgia, into their ranks.
Hailing from Lake Butler, Florida, Strong is a product of Union County, which is notable as the hometown of former Clemson star running back and current position coach C.J. Spiller. As a high school player, he was rated as a mid-three star recruit and ultimately selected Oklahoma over offers from USF, UCF, and Maryland.
