Lights, camera, suspense! The premiere of The Housemaid in New York City on December 2nd brought together a constellation of stars, offering a glimpse into the highly anticipated psychological thriller. Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, the leading ladies of the film, graced the red carpet at 787 Seventh Ave, captivating the audience with their presence. But, the story behind the movie is just as intriguing as the stars themselves.
Directed by Paul Feig, The Housemaid is based on Freida McFadden's 2022 novel of the same name and written by Robecca Sonnenshine. The film promises to be a thrilling ride, with Sweeney playing Millie Calloway, a housemaid with a mysterious past, who takes a job with a wealthy family. As she settles in, dark secrets begin to surface, threatening to unravel the seemingly perfect lives of those around her.
Seyfried portrays Nina Winchester, the affluent woman who employs Millie. Brandon Sklenar joins the cast as Seyfried's husband, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding drama.
The supporting cast is equally impressive, featuring Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, Indiana Elle, Mark Grossman, Hannah Cruz, Megan Ferguson, and Ellen Tamaki, each bringing their unique talents to this gripping narrative.
And this is the part most people miss... The film is produced by Hidden Pictures' Todd Lieberman, with Carly Kleinbart Elter overseeing the project. Feigco's Feig and Laura Fischer are also producing. Notably, Sweeney and Seyfried are executive producers alongside Alex Young and author McFadden.
