During CD Projekt Red’s Q3 2025 earnings call, joint CEO Michał Nowakowski gave fans an update on where things stand with The Witcher 4. When asked about the project’s progress and any development risks that could affect its release schedule, Nowakowski clarified that the game is now in full-scale production and moving steadily according to plan. However, he made one thing absolutely clear—the highly anticipated sequel is not launching in 2026.
He explained, “The Witcher 4 is in full-scale production. We’re not providing a specific release date at this stage, so there’s no point in time we can point to. What we can say is that it’s not coming out in 2026. Nothing unusual is happening in terms of technical or design challenges—it’s simply in production and advancing as expected under our internal schedule.”
That statement might disappoint those hoping to see Geralt’s world return sooner, but there’s some good news hidden in the details. According to Nowakowski, while The Witcher 4 may take its time, the follow-up games in the trilogy should arrive at a much faster pace. He reiterated CDPR’s commitment to releasing all three titles within a six-year window. “Yes, we still intend to deliver the full trilogy in six years,” he confirmed. “That means shorter gaps between The Witcher 4 and The Witcher 5, and between The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6.”
