A 19-year-old woman has been charged with impaired driving after her vehicle collided with a train at a Toronto GO station. According to police, the incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday near the Etobicoke North GO station, on Kipling Avenue, just north of Highway 409. The woman was driving her car onto the train tracks when it was struck by an UP Express train. The driver suffered minor injuries, while a male passenger in the car was not injured. Paramedics transported one patient to the hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the train's passengers. After the collision, Toronto Fire assisted passengers in exiting the train, and some were taken to a GO bus while others arranged their own transportation to the airport. Train service was temporarily delayed on the UP Express and the GO Kitchener line, but the tracks reopened around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, as confirmed by Metrolinx.
